Abstract
Session from LinuxWorld Expo UK, Oct 2006: Have you ever wondered how Linux is able to run on everything from your laptop to your PDA or even your cellphone? As a highly portable modern OS, Linux has been ported to more platforms than any other Operating System in history. In this class, you'll learn how Linux has been designed internally with portability in mind, how developers get the kernel up and running on a new system and gain some insight into the kernel development process.
